The Director, PR will act as right-hand to the Principal, Growth across marketing and public relations, setting the overall marketing strategy for Sullivan. They will build on the tremendous success Sullivan has had in the market and will focus on raising Sullivan’s profile in new verticals to build relationships with qualified prospects, while also maintaining our visibility in established verticals. This position is ideally suited to the individual seeking major impact on the growth of an award-winning agency with a roster of blue-chip clients. This person will have sole responsibility for PR and communications matters, reporting directly to the Principal of Growth and working closely with the partners and broader leadership of the firm. The work will include pitching the press, developing and managing a cross channel content strategy, securing speaking roles at key conferences, managing awards, proactively suggesting new opportunities, and helping to develop campaigns and messaging for the agency.  This person will contribute to all new business marketing and public relations, including demand generation, thought leadership, and prospective employee cultivation. Major responsibilities include:
  • Develop cross channel campaign strategy
  • Collaborate with company creative and strategy leadership to further thought leadership strategy 
  • Create PR strategy 
  • Refine awards strategy
  • Use data to optimize and evolve the communications plan 
  • Conceptualize and execute client and prospect events in collaboration with leadership
  • Participate in conferences to raise awareness of Sullivan and network
  • Manage and mentor junior Growth team staff 
  • Solidify speaking engagements for agency leadership

  • Deep knowledge of and relationships with key marketing, branding, business, and design press with a proactive media relations approach
  • A self-starter driven to hit and exceed goals with a focus on results
  • Familiarity with Sullivan’s core services and offerings
  • A true passion and appreciation for the power of creative and technology to transform how major companies market their products/services
  • A solid understanding of communications development, from the strategic to the tactical
  • Ability to manage up and down
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Social media and content marketing savvy
  • Resourceful and curious
  • Confident in liaising with senior executives
  • An undergraduate degree in business, marketing, or communications 
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Google Analytics, Google AdWords, LinkedIn, Wordpress and Campaign Monitor a plus 
  • 5-7 years of marketing experience
