Stewart Devlin
— Creative Director
As Creative Director at Sullivan, Stewart helps to build businesses with design thinking.
Stewart began his career in London with Lewis Moberly and Williams Murray Hamm. Curious about life in the U.S., he moved to New York City, where he’s been a Creative Director at Taxi, The Partners, a founding partner of Red Peak, ECD of Sid Lee, EVP – Director of Design Innovation at BBDO New York and ECD at VMLY&R.
Stewart has branded Caribbean islands, created the identity for the largest semiconductor company in the world, and designed revolutionary packaging for grocery brands. He’s tackled 21st century typographic challenges with the creation of the first global, proprietary font. For a NYC charity empowering underserved kids through art, Stewart convinced James Nares, Diane Von Furstenberg, Cynthia Rowley, and 42 other renowned designers to help him create the identity.
Throughout his career, Stewart has used 3 guiding principles:
- Our work must provoke reaction.
- A good idea is always better than a great execution.
- We remain relevant by identifying the moments that matter.
Stewart’s work has been recognized at Cannes, D&AD, the One Show, Clio, Graphis, Art Directors Club, Type Directors Club, Communication Arts and more.
